Wembley Stadium

Wembley Stadium has been the setting for many of the greatest moments in sport and music history and will once again host a range of world – class events, when it opens in 2007.

The new Wembley will offer 90,000 fans unrivalled views of the action in state-of-the art facilities while generating an unbeatable atmosphere. In short, the new Wembley will be the greatest Stadium in the world.

Towering above Wembley is the 133m high iconic Arch, a new landmark for London’s skyline and an iconic new symbol of world sport.

Legendary events for a legendary venue

Wembley Stadium will host some of the biggest events in the English sporting calendar, including The FA Cup Final and FA Cup Semi-Finals, all Senior England Internationals, The Football League Cup Final, The Football League Play-Off Finals and The FA Community Shield.

The Stadium will also be used for flagship Rugby League matches including the Challenge Cup Final, which will be one of the Stadium’s key fixtures. Following in the tradition of the old Stadium, the new Stadium will resurrect its role as the country’s leading concert venue, hosting some of the biggest music concerts for artists from around the world.

The new Wembley Stadium will also enhance the UK’s bids for the greatest events in world sport – from the Olympic Games to the FIFA World Cup and the UEFA Champions League Final. Wembley Stadium has already been chosen by London 2012 to stage both the men and women’s football finals in the 2012 Olympic Games.

The Wembley Experience

Seats will be closer to the pitch than in the original Stadium and every seat at the new Wembley will be wider and offer more legroom than the old Royal Box.
Fans will sit in one, single bowl around the pitch enjoying unobstructed views of the action
The journey to your seat will be more comfortable too, with light, spacious concourses, some the width of motorways, circulating right around the Stadium. There will also be 30 escalators and 26 lifts that will ensure easy access throughout the building.
World class facilities at Wembley Stadium, each unique in design and decor ensure a venue selection that truly reflects ambience and quality for a full spectrum of special events, ideal for any conference or banquet.
Wembley has been acoustically modelled to trap and recreate the sound from the music concerts and the legendary Wembley roar.
In a recreation of the old Wembley presentation route, players at the new Stadium will climb the stairs in to the crowd to collect their trophies from the Royal Box.
The orientation of the Stadium remains the same, so that the pitch is still east-west, with the main external façade of the Stadium pointing north down the “Wembley Way”.
Offering three times the floor space of the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wembley is the biggest Stadium in the world and has the facilities to cater for a fan’s every need.
688 food and drink service points will be in the Stadium along with four of the largest restaurants in London. One banqueting hall, the biggest in the capital, has a capacity for 1,900 guests.
The Stadium will have more toilets than any other in the world – over 2,500!
